Coming from a tropical country, one would naturally be curious about what snow or winter is like. Therefore, this Yuzawa trip is definitely a one-of-a-kind experience. Although I’ve been to Yuzawa before, returning still elicited a feeling of happiness.
Yuzawa’s geography makes it a perfect spot for winter activities such as skiing, gondola rides, snowmobiles, etc. Or you can just enjoy taking in the majestic view.

GALA is a ski resort that has fantastic views of the snow-capped mountains. This was my first time reaching the mountain peak via the gondola ride (cable car). The observation deck at the top is called The Bell of Love.

We spent the second half of the day in Shibuya to shop and have dinner. It was my first time trying a yakiniku, where I had to cook on a personal grill. It was an experience.
Shibuya is a shopping mecca, as seen in the number of establishments offering all kinds of goods and services.

Our go-to place for buying gifts, or pasalubong, is Don Quijote. Their largest store in Shibuya is called MEGA Donki. Don Quijote is famous for its discounts. Some items are tax-free, or if you reach a certain purchase amount, it might make you eligible for the tax incentive. Although items here may not always be the cheapest, they have the most comprehensive selection.
This wraps up our second day in Japan. It’s been a busy and tiring day. Make sure you have the energy to drag all your shopping hauls.
